      • AEMO operates gas retail markets in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, and Western Australia. AEMO also operates wholesale gas markets in south-eastern Australia, those being the Declared Wholesale Gas Market in Victoria (DWGM), the Short Term Trading Market in Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney (STTM), and the Gas Supply Hub (GSH), whose trading locations are based at Wallumbilla in Queensland, and Moomba in South Australia. AEMO also operates the Natural Gas Services Bulletin Board (GBB), and is system operator of the Victorian Gas Declared Transmission System. AEMO is also responsible for Gas Services Information functions in Western Australia.

    This guide has been established to nominate AEMO’s preferred electronic funds transfer facility for the National Electricity Market (NEM), Declared Wholesale Gas Market (DWGM), Short Term Trading Market (STTM), Queensland Retail Market, Gas Supply Hub, and other payments cleared by AEMO. The guide can also assist participants in establishing and operating routine payment processes, and provides additional information and references.

    Gas early settlement payment procedure

    To avoid the risk of late payment, participants may nominate to pay their settlement amount early in the DWGM, STTM, and Queensland Retail Gas Market.

    Prepayment arrangements

    AEMO has prepared a Guide to Gas Prepayment Arrangements to assist participants with new and existing prepayments in the STTM and Victorian Wholesale Gas Market. This guide contains information on AEMO’s prepayment management process and participant obligations.

    Guide to Gas Prepayment Arrangements

    Participants in the STTM and Victorian Wholesale Gas Market may provide new prepayments to AEMO at any time to reduce market exposure. Please fill out the email template below and email it to clearing@aemo.com.au.

    Prepayment Notification Email

    Participants with existing prepayments in the STTM and Victorian Wholesale Gas Market must submit a prepayment instruction email to prudentials@aemo.com.au by 12:00 pm AEST one business day before the National Gas Rules defined final settlement publication date.
